SUMMARY:
The Vocational Services Supervisor is the designated representative of the Vocational Services Director in maintaining a high standard of quality services at the workshop on the Lecanto complex. He/she is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the programs meet ethical legal and professional standards and promote optimal client progress. He/she is responsible for directly supervising instructional personnel assigned to the vocational department on the Lecanto campus.
Serves as advisor to the Vocational Services Director on all matters related to the welfare of participants risk management staff development and quality assurance (programmatic and contractual).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages subordinates supervisors (Instructor and Instructor Assistants) who supervise client employees in the vocational section of the Habilitative Department. Also supervises the Community Inclusion Specialist(s).
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree vocational rehabilitation special education occupational therapy psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Years of experience may be substituted for college education.
Three years experience in rehabilitation or in an educational or vocational setting for developmentally disabled persons is required. One-year experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
Certification in Behavior Analysis is preferred. Must be able to become certified in First Aid/CPR and T.A.C. T. (Therapeutic Approaches in Crisis Training).
Valid Florida drivers license with a safe driver rating.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to deal courteously tactfully and efficiently with program participants staff members and the general public.
Emotional stability and maturity with a genuine interest in working with program participants.
Capable of working a flexible hour/day if needed.
Ability to become certified in Therapeutic Approaches in Crisis Training (TACT).
A thorough knowledge of behavior analysis and its practical application.
Willingness to comply with in-service training or other mandates.
Knowledge or experience in vocational work evaluation.
Knowledge of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Most possess good organizational and management skills.
Knowledge of APD AHCA and CARF regulations applicable to the developmentally disabled.

While performing the duties of this job the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions; is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions fumes or airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
