The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidates for the position of Breastfeeding Coordinatorwithin theFulton County Board of Healthin theWomen Infants and Children (WIC) Division.


This is a grant funded position under the Women Infants and Children Grant.

Job Responsibilities

Oversees the planning implementation and evaluation of local agency breastfeeding activities. Ensures that local agency staff is properly trained on breastfeeding education and support. Provides ongoing supervision and support local agency breastfeeding staff. Keeps current with up-to-date breastfeeding information and disseminates this as well as FNS-provided information to other local agency staff.

Monitors local agency breast feeding rates. Ensures that breast pump issuance inventory and maintenance are logged and monitored. Performs the roles and responsibilities of a CPA.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience performing work related to the area of assignment which includes two (2) years in a managerial or supervisory role or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Healthcare Prgm Consultant 3 (HCP092) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Meets qualifications for a CPA.

Has a minimum 1 year experience in counseling breastfeeding women.

Has successfully completed specialized training in lactation management and care International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is preferred. Individual may be exam-eligible or have successfully complete other State-approved specialized training.

Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.

Fulton County Board of Health accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. Fulton County Board of Health will contact educational institutions to verify degree diploma licensure etc.

The candidate selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check/fingerprinting and reference checks.
