Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Frontend at Jio located in Bengaluru Bangalore Urban. This full-time position requires a seasoned leader passionate about developing innovative frontend solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in frontend technologies and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams to deliver exceptional digital experiences.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in frontend development using React with a solid understanding of component-driven frameworks and libraries for building user interfaces.
  • Expert knowledge in JavaScript and TypeScript for creating maintainable and scalable frontend applications.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS to craft responsive and visually appealing web pages that adhere to design guidelines.
  • Experience with Webpack for module bundling and optimization to ensure efficient loading of your applications.
  • Strong familiarity with version control systems specifically Git to manage code versions collaboratively within a team.
  • Broad understanding of Agile Methodologies to guide teams in iterative development and continuous enhancement cycles.
  • Knowledge in building and consuming RESTful APIs for seamless integration with backend services.
  • Demonstrated people management skills to mentor lead and develop a diverse team while fostering a collaborative environment.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the frontend engineering team to develop high-quality web applications that align with business goals and user needs.
  • Strong basics and software development skills Proficiency in React Javascript and similar technologies with a strong grasp on its ecosystem
  • Solid understanding of caching strategies web performance optimization and best practices
  • Basic knowledge of backend technologies and databases
  • Proficiency in data structures algorithms and problem-solving Strong leadership and managerial skills with a track record of leading successful development teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Exposure to other popular frontend frameworks and libraries like Angular or Svelte to help adapt to different project requirements.
  • Familiarity with tools and services like Google Lighthouse Web Vitals or New Relic can aid in monitoring and optimizing frontend application performance effectively
  • Familiarity with building Progressive Web Apps which offer improved performance and offline capabilities can be a valuable asset
  • Understanding of frontend security threats (e.g. Cross-Site Scripting - XSS) and how to mitigate them can help safeguard your applications
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum can facilitate effective project management and team collaboration
