Job Description
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must possess leadership qualities
Seasoned professional self-starting analytical and energetic - Must display a confident demeanor always while always supporting DHL values and 4 Pillars:Motivated People Great Service Quality Loyal Customers and Profitable Network
- Hold or working towards externally accredited safety certificate is desirable (e.g. ASP CSP or equivalent)
- DHL or other transportation operations experience helpful
- Adept at Microsoft Office package
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Must take ownership for all safety related issues and have a can do and teamwork style
- BS/BA in related discipline preferred and/or 5 years experience in Ops environment

We currently have an immediate opportunity for aSafety Managercovering our Area 4DHLfacilities. As aSafety Manageryou develop manage and administer existing policies and programs to ensure compliance with safety health and environmental requirements. They will also ensures compliance with existing injury and accident prevention programs develops cultural change initiatives programs monitors compliance conducts data analysis and recommends preventative actions. The Safety Manager also provides support and guidance to leadership on new initiatives projects policy and safety processesdepartment area and business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate and professional provision of Safety support to the Area Leadership team to ensure safety compliance incident prevention and safety culture development
- Ensure full compliance with all the requirements of Safety Regulations as they apply and actively ensures continual improvement using the established systems and processes
- Tracks and analyses incident trends and communicates target specific recommendations for improved safety performance to Area Leadership
- Has oversight of Areas workers compensation claims profile and provides updates to Leaders
- Supports claims reviews
- Oversees job hazard analysis and provides support in developing safe operating procedures
- Leads serious incident investigations to determine root cause and target procedural instructional or equipment changes to prevent reoccurrence
- Ensure suitable reporting processes are established and maintained in a timely and professional manner
- Establish and achieve meaningful and effective communicationswith all relevant parties both internally and externally. Develop good working relationships with all relevant parties
- Lead the Area Safety Committee
- Develop and facilitate safety training
- Promotes the DHL safety culture values and Guiding Principles
