Your day to day:
The Director of Maintenance assures a safe comfortable clean and attractive environment for all students staff and community. Primary functions include:
Leadership:
- You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities involved in the inspection cleaning maintenance and repair of all District buildings grounds and equipment including plowing snow and preparing outside of buildings during inclement weather.
- Responsible for managing the workflow for electrical plumbing carpentry HVAC locksmithing painting general maintenance and building envelope.
- You will serve as supervisor for maintenance staff.
- You are responsible for designing the districts Preventative Maintenance program.
Communication and Support:
- You will be responsible for managing all communications with outside vendors.
- Ensuring all communications with internal (district personnel) and external (vendors) customers are handled in a timely manner.
- You will communicate various compliance and certification requirements to both internal (district personnel) and external (vendors) customers.
- You will serve as the primary point of contact for building principals head custodians and maintenance staff.
- Responsible for communicating with other departments on issues that may affect their group.
Budget and Finance:
- Responsible for working with the Director of School Facilities to plan the annual budget for Maintenance to analyze and review budgetary and financial data develop annual budget projections and control and authorize expenditures in accordance with established limitations.
- Evaluate Department activities for operational efficiency.
- Implement programs guidelines policies and procedures to enhance the operational efficiency of Department operations and activities and capacity to meet District needs.

- You have worked hard to obtain an Associates degree or four years of applicable work experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities.

- You can provide sound judgment.
- You have knowledge of supervisory principles facilities maintenance grounds and custodial principles and practices.
- You have knowledge of contract management principles and practices and of applicable Federal State and local laws rules regulations codes and/or statutes.
- You have knowledge of budgeting principles and practices preventative maintenance principles and practices continuous Quality Improvement Principles and of sustainability in Facilities Management and maintaining currency in sustainable practices.
