As an Area Manager you play a critical role in the overall coordination and implementation of high-quality traffic control services. This role involves maintaining traffic control operations ensuring productivity efficiency safety and supervising field staff.
What you will be responsible for:
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager (OM) General Manager (GM) Dispatch and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to coordinate schedules distribute work efficiently and address relief needs.
- Supervise and direct traffic employees in the Dispatch Fleet and for site requirements.
- Ensure field staff comply with regulations company standards and policies through education and training.
- Address the portfolio of clients assigned to them and employee inquiries via phone and email including staffing safety concerns and complaints.
- Investigate and address complaints from clients the public and employees reporting major incidents.
- Collaborate with Fleet and Facilities departments to maintain proper inventory and supply of fleet vehicles for new LCTs.
- Analyze field staff utilization and address non-supply issues.
- Assist HR and GM with manpower forecasting planning and deployment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies procedures and practices in collaboration with OHS.
- Site visits for contractor consultations.

What we need from you:
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Previous traffic control experience is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years construction management experience required.
- Excellent organizational time management and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task and effectively meet deadlines.
- Experience in addressing conduct and performance issues with geographically dispersed field employees.
- Well versed in all safety regulations as it relates to traffic management its service and facility.
- Valid WorkSafeBC Traffic Control Person ticket considered an asset.
Where/When you will be working:
- The position is set to 40 hours per week.
- While the position will work mostly out of the Operations Office located in Vernon flexibility may be needed from time-to-time. This could mean working from a satellite office attending meetings with clients and attending job sites.
- During critical project phases the position will be required to work outside normal business hours to ensure project timelines are met.
