The annual pay range for teachers is $6 3367 - $111488 with placement on the range based on experience and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
Adam Robertson Elementary is a school with approximately 310 students in kindergarten to grade 7. We are a school in School District #8 Kootenay Lake and we are a part of the Creston Family of Schools.
Adam Robertson Elementary School is looking for a 0. 9232 FTE Term Intermediate classroom teacher . We are seeking an experienced classroom teacher to join our collaborative team of educators in delivering a dynamic and inclusive educational program. Our school culture is grounded in the Circle of Courage philosophy and we expect staff to actively incorporate its four core values Belonging Mastery Independence and Generosity into daily learning experiences. A commitment to collaboration includ ing buddy activities and school-wide initiatives is essential.
The successful applicant will be a positive energetic and a collaborative educator who is organized and deeply committed to student-centered learning. They will be responsible for planning preparing and delivering curriculum across multiple subject areas using current research-based pedagogy to support student success. Proven experience in elementary teaching is required along with the ability to follow school-based team plans that promote inclusion align with positive behavior expectations and support the implementation of school and district strategic initiatives. As this role involves close collaboration with co-teachers strong communication skills with students staff and parents are essential.
Teachers applying for this position must possess the following skills and attributes:
A comprehensive understanding of BCs revised curriculum First Peoples Principles of Learning and social-emotional learning (SEL) practices.
Practical understanding of the Circle of Courage
A demonstrated commitment to equity reconciliation and inclusion.
Excellent verbal written facilitation and organizational skills.
Social-emotional competencies of self-awareness empathy flexibility and relationship-building.
A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain rapport with students staff and parents in a welcoming and empathetic manner.
Proven ability to implement effective strategies to engage and support academic success for all learners in an inclusive environment.
Experience in designing and applying various assessment techniques to measure and monitor student progress.
Commitment to professional learning with a desire to learn and implement new methodologies and strategies to support a creative engaging and inclusive classroom experience.
Commitment to collaboration with students parents and staff (both school and District) to enhance the school as a learning community.
Demonstrated experience integrating outdoor education to enrich learning across multiple subject areas
Training in trauma-informed practices (e.g.: Complex Trauma Resources etc.).
Experience with positive behavior support and a willingness to support the implementation of school-wide initiatives.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor of Education
A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch
