We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead a suite of system-level cross-programmatic projects aimed at fulfilling the strategic objectives of the Ontario Cancer Plan. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality of care for cancer patients in Ontario.
Here is what you will be doing:
Project Leadership:Lead and manage high-priority complex and long-term provincial projects. Youll be the first point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders demonstrating professionalism tact diplomacy and excellent judgment.
Collaboration:Build strong relationships with clinical leads regional cancer program partners and other teams within clinical programs to ensure timelines and deliverables are achieved.
Planning and Implementation:Scope plan and achieve project deliverables within specified timelines. This includes establishing clear goals scope deliverables risk assessment development of mitigation strategies and escalation of issues.
Stakeholder Engagement:Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships build credibility consult influence persuade build consensus coach and resolve conflicts.
Communication:Present complex concepts clearly and effectively to a diverse audience including executives patients clinicians vendors and health administrators.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Masters degree (preferred) or undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. health services research health/business administration health sciences) and five to eight years of experience including at least three working within the healthcare sector and leading/enabling large-scale strategic projects; orequivalent combination of education and experience;
Project management certification required
Experience working with a diverse array of clinical experts and health care administrators;
Experience as a Project Manager with proven success in planning and implementing health service delivery re-design and change management initiatives
Familiarity with organization and delivery of healthcare in Ontario; understanding of cancer services and/or work experience in an oncology setting and/or experience implementing clinical tools are preferred;
Demonstrated knowledge and application of project management healthcare quality improvement knowledge translation and exchange and change management best practices with a focus on system improvement;
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder relations skills including the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships build credibility consult influence persuade build consensus coach and resolve conflicts;
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Excellent communication presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to presents complex concepts clearly and effectively to a diverse audience (including executives patients clinicians vendors health administrators)
Demonstrated planning and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a hands-on manner adjusting to issues as needed in a dynamic environment
Superior ability to analyze and define problems evaluate alternatives find solutions make decisions prioritize and effectively anticipate and respond to issues as they arise
Must be detail-oriented and goal oriented with strong problem solving critical thinking and negotiating skills
Eagerness to learn about and partner with all service delivery partners and departments within and external to the organization to advance the project objectives;
Demonstrated ability to work both as a member of a team and independently using sound judgment;
