About the Role

What Youll Do

• Design build and maintainrobust and scalable backend services usingJavaScript/TypeScript andNoSQL databasessuch as MongoDB.
• Architect data pipelines and storage solutionsfor structured and unstructured financial data ensuring performance reliability and scalability.
• Lead the development ofsecure enterprise-grade API integrations partnering with third-party data providers and internal teams.
• Deploy monitor and optimize services onAWS applying best practices for observability cost efficiency and fault tolerance.
• Drivetechnical excellenceby writing clean maintainable code supported by thorough unit and integration testing.
• Participate in and elevatecode reviews architecture discussions and technical planning setting a high bar for engineering quality.
• Mentor intermediate developers and contribute to the evolution of our backend development standards and processes.
• Partner closely with product data and design teams totranslate business requirements into scalable backend solutions.

What Were Looking For

• Extensive backend development experience particularly withandTypeScript and a deep understanding of system design principles.
• Proven experience withMongoDB(or similar NoSQL databases) and a strong grasp ofdata modelingand query optimization.
• Experience building and maintainingpublic-facing and internal APIs with an emphasis on performance security and monitoring.
• Strong background incloud infrastructure ideally withAWS servicessuch as Lambda S3 ECS and CloudWatch.
• Comfortable withCI/CD workflows infrastructure as code and optimizing deployment processes.
• A track record of writing well-tested reliable code and championingengineering best practices.
• Excellentcollaboration and communicationskillsyou know how to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience withPythonfor backend scripting or data processing.
• Familiarity withserverless architectures(e.g. AWS Lambda).
• Knowledge ofsearch indexing technologiessuch asElasticsearch.
• Exposure todata warehousing analytics pipelines or financial data normalization.

The Interview Process

1. Multiple Choice Technical Assessment:A general assessment of your JavaScript and coding skill sets designed to evaluate your foundational technical knowledge.
2. 30-Minute Video Call with a Talent Acquisition Partner:A conversation to get to know you better discuss your experience and motivations and explore your technical knowledge and cultural fit for the role.
3. 75-Minute Live Coding Session:A hands-on coding session with a Team Lead or Engineering Leader. Youll be tasked with solving a technical problem in real-time where well evaluate your coding skills problem-solving abilities and approach to optimizing code.
4. 45-Minute Interview with a Member of Engineering Leadership: A deeper dive into your technical expertise problem-solving abilities and alignment with our teams goals. This interview also focuses on your approach to collaboration and communication within a cross-functional environment.
