The Opportunity
We are seeking a personable knowledgeable and proactive Librarian to join our Information Services team. Working in collaboration with the Senior Librarian the Dean of Learning and the wider Learning Team this role supports the academic and intellectual pursuits of students by managing library services and collections while fostering a love for learning and research across the College community. This is a unique opportunity to integrate traditional library services within a lively collegiate environment and have a direct impact on the educational experiences of undergraduate and graduate students.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Support & Outreach
Act as a bridge between library services and the College community.
Offer individual and group research consultations.
Organise outreach events promoting research skills information literacy and recreational reading.
Instruction & Information Literacy
Deliver workshops on research strategies academic databases and citation management.
Collaborate with the Learning Team to enrich academic programming.
Collection Development
Curate resources aligned with academic priorities and community interests.
Maintain heritage collections and promote them where relevant.
Manage feedback channels to inform acquisitions and services.
Community Engagement
Take part in College life by organising or supporting events such as talks dinners and academic discussions.
Offer research advice to students and staff as needed.
What Youll Bring
Postgraduate qualifications in Library and Information Services and eligibility for ALIA membership.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
Demonstrated experience in academic library settings including research support and collection management.
Solid knowledge of library systems online resources and developments in AI-assisted research tools.
Confidence in using Library Management Systems intranet platforms and digital tools.
A warm welcoming presence and genuine enthusiasm for student learning.
