At Lynas Rare Earths - we do interesting stuff!

Our Rare Earths mine at Mt Weld Western Australia is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths deposits in the world and we operate the worlds largest single Rare Earths processing plant in Malaysia so youre joining a very unique team! As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas electric vehicles and wind turbines.

An opportunity exists for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join Lynas Rare Earths. As the Environmental Advisor you will support the HSE Superintendent and Senior Environmental Advisor in the planning implementation and management of environmental activities. You will assist in maintaining our Environmental Management System ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards. The role involves variety through scheduled support to our Kalgoorlie operation. This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.

As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team you will:

  • Support the Senior Advisor with all on-site environmental activities and incident management.
  • Conduct and oversee environmental monitoring and sampling programs ensuring accurate data collection validation and reporting.
  • Contribute to environmental capability development across the operation to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting statutory environmental reports and ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Support the development and review of environmental processes procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with the HSE Superintendent in maintaining positive relationships with regulators.
  • Participate in the annual review of environmental standards policies and procedures to ensure ongoing legislative compliance and drive improvement.

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Valid C class manual drivers license; confident driving on gravel roads.

Experience & Skills:

  • 1 2 years prior relevant HSE experience in the mining industry is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge and application of Western Australian mining and environmental legislation.
  • Experience in implementing environmental management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail proactive problem-solving mindset and excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
