TITLE: Teacher Clarity Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Office of Teaching & Learning
JOB STATUS: Teacher on Special Assignment
POSITIONSUMMARY:
The TeacherClarity Specialist will serve as a coach for district Priority and/or Focus Schools identified under the Ohio Department ofEducation guidelines. This position willserve the following elementary schools: Hubbard ES and Stewart ES)
ESSENTIALDUTIES:
The TeacherClarity Specialist will provide coaching instructional and curricular support to threeSQIG grant funded schools for target area Standards Assessment & Accountability:Data use capacity improvement. The duties will include but are not limited to the following areas:
Provideinstructional coachingspecifically around the topic of Teacher Clarity and the Districts CommonInstructional Framework to individual teachers Teacher Based Teams (TBTs) and BuildingLeadership Teams (BLTs)
Support teachers instructional coaches and TBTs in the implementation of Teacher Clarity andthe Districts Common Instructional Framework
Coach building instructional coaches to effectivelysupport classroom teachersin the implementation of literacy and/or math strategies
Deliverprofessional development to teachers in a variety of areasincluding but not limited to:instructional strategies assessment development Ohio StateAssessments and deconstructing the standards
Collaborate with teachers teams administrators external partners district departments andcommunity partners
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrate knowledge of the necessary work of priority and focusschools
Assess specific building needs and support schools in the development of an action plan using data
Work with schools to use data to inform and guide instructional practices in order to increase student achievement
Engage with staff to design job-embedded professional development aligned to building school improvement
plansTeacher Clarity and the Districts Common Instructional Framework
Provide support to schools in integrating district initiatives into the school improvement process
Support the implementation of innovative practices and programs in schools
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess valid Ohio Teaching licensure appropriate for level (ES MS HS)
Minimum of five years classroom teaching experience in an urban setting
Knowledge of effective literacy and math practices for elementary andmiddle schoolstudents
Knowledge of Required Experience: Unclear Seniority
