General Description / Primary Purpose:

The Coordinator of Athletic Development for Intercollegiate Athletics under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Assistant Vice President or above is responsible for seeking identifying cultivating and soliciting annual fund and major gifts and prospects. To fulfill these responsibilities the Coordinator will perform the following key functions:

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Identify cultivate solicit and steward donors to support Athletics Department priorities.
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue and membership goals for the Osprey Club and Athletics Development in coordination with the Director of Athletics Senior Associate AD and University Development leadership.
  • Develop and expand fundraising pipelines including annual giving major gifts and planned giving prospects.
  • Manage and execute annual fund and crowdfunding campaigns such as 904 Day and Giving Day.

Collaboration & Relationship Management

  • Partner with coaches to support sport-specific fundraising alumni engagement and donor communications.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with individuals corporations and foundations.
  • Represent the Athletics Department at donor events and use these opportunities for cultivation and stewardship.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Assist in planning and executing key fundraising and engagement events including the AD Reception Golf Classic Hall of Fame Blue & Gray Bash and other special events.
  • Support hospitality operations and ensure a high-quality experience for donors and guests.

Communications & Marketing

  • Create compelling publications and promotional materials to support cultivation and solicitation efforts.
  • Collaborate with University Development and Athletics Communications to align messaging and outreach strategies.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of donor interactions and prospect activity in the CRM database.
  • Track progress toward fundraising goals and prepare reports for internal stakeholders.

Cross-Departmental Coordination

  • Attend University Development and Alumni Engagement (UDAE) and PTS meetings to ensure alignment and collaboration.
  • Work closely with University Development staff on prospect identification proposal development and stewardship strategies.

Marginal Functions:

  • Active member of the Athletics external operations team. May represent the Athletic Department and/or University on local committees.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Associate AD or UDAE Assistant VP in support of overall fundraising objectives.

Departmental Requirements:

Related experience may include a combination of fundraising external sales external/community affairs business development marketing or experience that involves reaching out to external constituencies to engage more closely with the organization or company you represent. - Must be a proven self-starter who can work independently and be held accountable for results. - Excellent interpersonal skills (position requires high visibility internally and externally). - Superior written and verbal communication skills. - Proven computer literacy. - Experience with fundraising software. Experience in Athletics is preferred.

Supervision Received:

Coordinator will report to the Senior Associate Athletics Director. At the beginning of each fiscal year the Coordinator will develop a set of goals annually related to fundraising efforts in consultation with the Senior Associate AD Director of Athletics and UDAE Assistant VP.

Level of Public Contact:

Very high visibility both internally and externally.

Monetary Responsibility:

Receives gifts of varying amounts in various forms of payment from donors. Responsible for properly processing each gift in conjunction with Advancement Services. Assist in managing the Osprey Club within the allotted budget.

Policy-making and/or Interpretation:

Works closely with the Senior Associate AD in developing policies related to the Athletics Development Office.

Program Direction and Development:

Plays an integral role in advancing the Athletics Development Offices fundraising efforts.

Required Qualifications:

This position requires either (a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization ; (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

The holder of this position is responsible for any NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines that a member of the UNF Athletic Compliance Department provides in addition to all UNF regulations.
