We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our inclusive educational team. In this role you will support students with disabilities in general education classrooms ensuring they receive the individualized support and accommodations they need to succeed alongside their peers. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers support staff families and related service providers to foster a positive equitable learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities in compliance with IDEA and district policies.
- Provide direct instructional support to students in inclusive classroom settings and/or through pull-out services as needed.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum modify instruction and implement accommodations and behavior supports.
- Use evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of assessments goals and behavioral interventions.
- Communicate regularly with families to share progress strategies and encourage participation in the educational process.
- Participate in IEP meetings multidisciplinary teams and professional development sessions.
- Promote a positive inclusive classroom culture that supports social-emotional learning and student engagement.
- Support and coach classroom staff (paraprofessionals or aides) working with students with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working in inclusive education settings is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development data collection and instructional best practices for diverse learners.
- Excellent collaboration communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to equity inclusion and culturally responsive teaching.
Working Conditions:
- School-based setting with both classroom and small-group instruction.
- Regular interaction with students teachers and support staff.
