Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a Post Graduate Fellow to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

We are looking for aPost Graduate Fellow in Kidney Transplant Renal Medicine!The primary purpose of the role of the Post Graduate Fellow in Kidney Transplant (Renal Medicine) is to provide a program of additional training to develop subspecialty interests in kidney transplant and to further develop core clinical skills required in this area.

The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high quality clinical care diagnostic and consultative specialty services in kidney transplant at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow and participate in teaching research quality improvement and administrative activities within the Renal Medicine Department and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as required. They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education research and professional development.

The Kidney Transplant Post Graduate Fellow (Renal Medicine) will work primarily within the Kidney Transplantation arm of Renal Medicine Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. This position is primarily for the purpose of providing a continuum of care for kidney transplant candidates and recipients spanning pre-transplant evaluation through acute (inpatient) transplantation and post-transplant follow-up.

This role includes in-patient and out-patient clinical management planning integration within a multidisciplinary team procedural skills (including kidney biopsy) management of junior staff on-call audit and quality control education and research. The role will also seek to expand the knowledge and experience of the incumbent to enable their acquisition of the skills required to be a Transplant Nephrologist.

The successful applicant will be registered or eligible for registration withthe Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in renal medicine and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. (Note: Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to or within three months of the expected commencement date may be considered).
