Job Description

Pediatric Clinical Therapist

Allied Behavioral Health Solutions (ABHS) is a locally owned behavioral health practice with a staff of dedicated passionate and collaborative clinicians working towards ABHS goal of better outcomes for all.

In 2024 ABHS opened the Resilient Roots Family Wellness Center (RRFWC) in Smyrna a community space that will include clinical outpatient psychotherapy and medication management across the lifespan intensive outpatient programming for perinatal mental health and children aged 8-12 a community hub and Little Blossoms Early Learning & Development Center a therapeutic preschool with inclusion classes for children 6 weeks - 5 years of age (pre-K). The ideal candidates for roles within RRWC will be passionate about supporting parents infants children and families in meeting their mental health and educational goals.

Since 2017 ABHS has been committed to providing high-quality and accessible mental health services across Middle and East Tennessee. Our staff specialize in a variety of topics and treatment methods to allow us to meet every client wherever they may be. ABHS consists of a closely connected core group of therapists who collaborate and support each other s professional goals. Our team members offer a broad background of experience and education dedicated to providing care for individuals from all walks of life. We provide paid clinical supervision for pre-licensure clinicians a yearly continuing education/materials stipend paid trainings in evidence based practices paid orientation to the position flexible scheduling with work from home and telehealth options and our administrative staff provides insurance credentialing and support in client management scheduling and billing. PTO and benefits are also available for full time staff.

The primary functions of this position are 1) to provide outpatient individual family group and IOP counseling for pediatric and adolescent aged clients and their families and 2) to offer on site clinical support to Little Blossoms educators and students to address both typically developing children and those with additional social emotional and behavioral needs.

Reports to: Resilient Roots Clinical Supervisor and Little Blossoms Education Director

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide individual/family/group counseling services utilizing evidence-based practices for approximately 25 sessions a week with some evening availability.

  • Collaborate with education staff and engage in weekly treatment team meetings to provide therapeutic support on-site to children with additional needs in the classroom.

  • Commitment to learning and utilizing a variety of evidence-based practices including but not limited to TF-CBT CPP TARGET CPC-CBT and/or DBT as well as tiered systems of support within educational settings including Pyramid Model and Conscious Discipline.

  • Partner with outside agencies for client service delivery as needed (DCS and other providers)

  • Provide education regarding behavioral health needs to staff and families as needed.

  • Appropriately assess and diagnose identified client per insurance requirements.

  • Develop appropriate treatment plans for identified client(s).

  • Maintain timely session and billing documentation.

  • Engage in weekly clinical supervision.

  • Participate actively in a growing relationship-focused practice with a high volume of referrals

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master s in Counseling Social Work or related discipline.
  • Must be eligible to obtain temporary LPC or LMSW within six months of hiring.
  • Must be committed to seeking independent licensure as an LPC-MHSP or LCSW within a reasonable timeline.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft OFFICE including Word Outlook and Excel.
  • LPC-MHSP LCSW or related licensure is preferred.
  • Experience working in a medical and/or clinical setting is preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting professional knowledge and demeanor in all forms of communication.
  • Ability to build strong rapport with children adolescents and families quickly.
  • Capacity to work individually and in a family context.
  • Ability to remain calm and effectively manage crisis situations.
  • Capacity to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Capability to collect data and engage in appropriate feedback.
