Job Description

Kalos Services is in search of a dynamic and experienced Bilingual (Spanish/English) Safety Coordinator to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for recognizing and controlling exposures in a fast-paced construction environment with multiple trades working throughout the shift. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills a strong understanding of safety requirements and the ability to build collaborative teams to reduce and control exposures within the work site.


Schedule: Primary Schedule is Sunday - Thursday from 9am - 6am. Need Flexibility as based on projects.


Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 hourly & (Company Vehicle Provided)


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and exposures on multiple construction sites.
  • Execute policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and those of our customers.
  • Provide guidance and support to superintendents project managers and trades to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and accidents identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks to educate workers and site leaders on safety practices and promote a culture that values safety throughout sites.
  • Collaborate with project managers superintendents contractors and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are met and maintained in accordance with OSHA and our customers requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends regulations and best practices in construction safety and incorporate them into our culture.
  • Foster open communication channels to encourage reporting of safety concerns and near misses.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and actively engage with employees to address their safety concerns and suggestions.
Requirements


  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements particularly in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience implementing safety programs and policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong observation and analytical skills to identify potential hazards and develop effective control measures and the recognition of exposure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple trades and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate a collaborative safety-focused team.
  • Professional certifications such as Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) are highly desirable. OSHA 30 Construction is a requirement.
  • Prior experience in construction safety or related field is preferred.
  • Excellent driving record
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English candidates encouraged to apply
  • Must be comfortable speaking publicly to groups of employees
  • Travel is required within the state of Florida
  • Travel 100% within the state home daily with the exception of occasional overnight stays is required for up to 1-3 nights.
  • Per diem offered for overnight stays
  • Company vehicle furnished for travel
