Job Description
Electrical & Controls Engineer
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading all aspects of scoping development implementation and support of Electrical and Control Systems engineering design and commissioning efforts for modular skids of process equipment for capital projects.
- Also to provide technical assistance and support to equipment skid Vendors fabricating modular skids.
- Perform Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for process and packaging equipment.
- Installation / commissioning support procurement support including IQOQ verification and validation support.
- Design and develop power and Control panels to meet UL508A standards.
- Generate power distribution drawings I/O schematics loop diagrams and BOM generation.
- Size & select instruments using customized sizing tools and OEM specific tools.
- Generate cable schedules cable tray routing power and controls drawings review/verification control system architecture / network diagrams controls hardware selection specification and design.
- Perform machine risk assessments (MRA) and develop machine safety designs to mitigate machinery hazards/risks following basic and well established safety principles per legal and standard requirements and to meet ISO 13849-1 and OSHA standards and validation and verification of machine safety designs using SISTEMA tool.
- Develop electrical and control systems engineering design and commissioning efforts for FMCG industries following industry standards including OSHA NEC hygienic practices and dust control standards.
- Specify Design engineering and development of low voltage (600VAC) Power distribution systems Motor Control Centers (MCC) and Electrical control room layouts.
- Lighting and grounding systems design meeting industrial standards.
EDUCATIONAL AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a bachelor degree in Engineering Computer Science or related field/discipline (or foreign equivalent) and 5 years of experience with the following skills that may be gained concurrently:
- Designing and developing electrical control systems for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and modular skids for the production process.
- Using CAD tools AutoCAD Electrical AutoCAD LT Promis-e EPLAN Navisworks 3D and SOLIDWORKS 3D.
Certification in the following:
- ARC Flash Electrical Safety NFPA 70E
- PC & IS Machine Safety Design
100% short-term travel or long-term relocation (both paid for by the employer) to unanticipated client sites throughout the United States required. Required to reside within commuting distance of the assigned worksite(s). This is not a telecommuting job. Reports to Kensington CA office but all work performed atunanticipatedthird party sites.
Wage Range: $176000 - $186000
