Job Description
The Salvage & Repair position will serve our Water Heating Division located in Montgomery AL.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to determine whether tank is salvageable.
- Arc or gas weld tank leaks if salvageable.
- Tap out fittings where tanks are damaged.
- Must be able to determine whether or not an application of epoxy on bare spots is allowed if applicable repairman will epoxy damaged area.
- Must be able to burn with cutting torch-damaged fittings and prepare tanks for rework if applicable.
- New fittings may need grinding and/or reaming.
- Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
- Observe all departmental safety requirements.
- Maintain quality standards according to specifications.
- Inspect units or parts for defects and workmanship.
- Work from written or verbal orders.
- Practice and support Rheem values with internal as well as external customers.
- May be exposed to high noise levels.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED.
- The following skills will be tested: Lift truck Observation of Welding skills.
- Continuous lifting of 5-25 lbs.
- Frequent lifting of 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting of 60 lbs.
