This is a temporary position to be utilized while the incumbent is securing a Louisiana Engineer Intern certificate. Permanent status shall be denied to incumbents occupying this position.

JOB DUTIES:
50% Assists Project Engineer (Engineer 6) with management of Construction unit(s). Assign technicians and equipment to projects.
15% Serves as project manager over more complex projects. Functionally supervises staff assigned to project.
5% Attends meetings associated with projects such as plan-in-hands or pre-construction conferences. May represent Project Engineer at said same meetings.
5% Reviews preliminary plans and makes recommendations for construction. May lead survey party to perform layout work or obtain field information for project office or other sections.
5% Enhances technical and management skills through participation in continuing education seminars or courses.
5% May be required to perform other duties as necessary including but not limited to emergency/disaster support activities.

Engineer Intern Applicant -$24.04/hourly- Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.

Engineer Intern 1 - Special Entrance Rate (SER) $26.44/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
Engineer Intern 2 - Special Entrance Rate (SER) $28.29/ hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate plus one year of professional engineering experience.
Engineer 3 - Special Entrance Rate (SER) $33.39/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
Engineer 4 - Special Entrance Rate (SER) $36.90/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering plus One year of licensed engineering experience OR Five years of professional engineering experience.
Engineer 5 - Special Entrance Rate (SER) $39.48/hourly. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering plus two years of licensed engineering experience OR Six years of professional engineering experience.

Compensation: This position is eligible for shift differential pay for hours worked after 6pm & before 6am when working on Construction projects only:

Work Schedule: Work hours are 7:45 am - 4:15 pm Monday-Friday
