Job Description

To provide high level clinical support and clinical supervision to the direct service staff and to provide training and liaison for BSO team members caregivers family care partners long term care home and/or group home staff in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services as well as conduct functional curriculum and behavioral assessments. The Lead Consultant will participate in the assessment treatment planning process as well as the design delivery and quality of program content.

What must you have

  • Masters Degree in a related field and registered as a Behaviour Analyst with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
  • 2 years experience working in the Applied Disabilities field. Areas of knowledge may include healthy sexuality dual diagnosis Autism acquired brain injury (ABI) gerontology neurodegenerative disorders and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
  • Certified in First Aid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Crisis Prevention Intervention.

  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment.
  • Direct clinical experience with Applied Behavioural Analysis with the older adult population experience with neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia addiction use and/or Mental Health an asset.
  • Proven skills and experience in clinical and program support assessment and direct ABA service provision.
  • Experience working with families caregivers and an interprofessional team (i.e. regulated and non-regulated care team members).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in ABA with the older adult population individuals with developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilites.
  • Able to demonstrate team building and team support skills.
  • Must be able to analyze and graphbehaviour analytic program and data to ensure that all the needs of the client are being met and the direct service staff are effectively carrying out the programming.
  • Advanced problem solving skills and navigating barriers to assessment and intervention.
  • Ability to demonstrate and implement evidence based teaching techniques in ABA.
  • Ability to complete standardized assessments and design/delivery of stimulus preference assessments and to teach these to the direct service staff as appropriate.
  • Ability to ensure that direct service staff develop skills to support older adults in a long term care home setting promote skill acquisition ensure high levels of treatment integrity and implement intervention strategies.
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook at an advanced level.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Healths Commitment to Caring.
