This position is on an as needed basis and pays $175 per day. The school nurse is responsible for developing implementing and managing a school health program for a school population as defined by the school district. RESPONSIBILITIES:Participates and implements state-mandated programs such as immunization surveillance and screening programs (vision hearing postural etc.)Promotes positive safety practices both within and outside of school medically prescribed interventions including medication administration (based on state regulations) and provides care to ill children on a daily formal health education and instruction to children within classrooms under direction of a daily record of all nurses office visits and activities using web-based health education to students families and school personnel to empower them to make informed decisions for optimum with classroom teacher to prepare for fieldtrips and overnight trips so that all medication and medical needs are addressed and comply with state and federal mandates. Work in a comprehensive school health program consistent with the Massachusetts guidelines regulations and statutes governing nursing and school health as well as school district care to all with sudden illness or injury; students child care enrollees staff visitors and accident reports of duties as assigned.
