Menlo School is seeking a passionate and experienced After School Dance Instructor to join our Arts Department at the start of theschool year. This part-time role supports our vibrant after school dance program and is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment enjoys working with high school students and is committed to providing high-quality dance instruction across a variety of styles and experience levels.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
Support the after school dance program in collaboration with existing dance faculty.
Teach classes that include dance technique strength and conditioning and choreography.
Develop and lead movement across a variety of styles including jazz jazz funk hip hop house groove styles and contemporary.
Create relevant and engaging choreography suitable for high school students of all technical backgrounds.
Maintain a safe clean and organized studio environment including support with setup and staging.
Contribute to the continued growth of Menlos dance program.
Be available to attend all major dance-related events including auditions dancer orientation rehearsals and 810 performances throughout the year.
Commit to full availability during the schools annual Dance Concert window (March).
Schedule
Regular teaching hours: Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays 3:005:30 p.m. during the school year.
Additional hours required for auditions rehearsals and performances.
This is a part-time variable-hour position with a flexible schedule.
Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma required; a bachelors degree is preferred.
At least 3 years of experience teaching dance with experience in a high school or youth setting strongly preferred.
Comfortable teaching students at all levels of dance ability.
Excitement for working with students and contributing to a dynamic performing arts program.

Pay range:
In the spirit of pay transparency we share the base salary range for this position for the 2025-2026 academic year. The full pay range which encompasses all experience levels is $35.00 - 55.00 per hour. Within this broad range we pay in accordance with what could be reasonably expected based on an individuals experience level. Base salary is exclusive of fringe benefits retirement plan employer contributions or potential stipends (for eligible employees). Pay ranges at Menlo are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at Menlo School your final base salary will be determined by factors such as skills education experience job level part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the generous range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical for Menlo School in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
