Job Description

12 Month 8 Hours - 4 hours maintenance 4 hours bus driver

$20 per hour Paid TRS and Benefits

POSITION: General Maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required
  2. Good judgment and decision-making ability. Knowledge and application of good safety practices. Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
  3. Possess a valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record as defined by the districts insurance carrier.

REPORTS TO: Director of Property Services

JOB GOAL: Perform general maintenance repairs for all sites within the District.

JOB DUTIES:

  1. Assist Director of Maintenance or designee in the maintenance of District owned and leased facilities
  2. Maintain building code compliance
  3. Provide preventative maintenance at site buildings
  4. Provide progress and completion updates on projects
  5. Inspection of site roofs
  6. Provide minor roof repairs
  7. Reporting of major roof repairs
  8. Clean downspouts on monthly basis
  9. Replacing of HVAC filters
  10. Work cooperatively with other departmental personnel and other site personnel.
  11. Other duties as assigned

POSITION:Bus Driver

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a valid chauffeur license.
  • Skill in driving a school bus as proven by passing a special perfomance test.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations and school system policies and procedures.
  • Ability to gain respect and cooperation of students parents administrative officials and others; to maintain discipline; to pass a required bus drivers course; to read and write.

REPORTS TO:Director of Transportation

SUPERVISES:Bus Monitor

JOB OVERVIEW:Under close supervision transport pupils faculty and other school patrons between pick-up points and school maintain order during trips and adhere to traffic safety rules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Drives bus to transport pupils between pick-up points and school according to prescribed time schedules.
  • Regulates heating and ventilating systems for passengers comfort.
  • Complies with traffic and safety regulations.
  • Reports accidents or delays and completes required reports.
  • Inspects bus for mechanical defects; checks gas oil and water before departing; cleans bus after trip.
  • Maintains discipline when students are aboard bus; reports problems to supervisor.
  • Enforces regulations against smoking or eating on bus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve-month (240) basis. Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position is both indoor and outdoor within the school building and its outer area.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires standing walking lifting bending crouching lifting items.
