This executive-level opportunity is ideal for a seasoned engineering leader with a strong municipal project background technical depth in water/wastewater systems and a passion for mentoring teams and shaping public infrastructure.
As Vice President youll drive operational strategy oversee complex utility projects and maintain high-level client relationships across Central Texas. This position reports directly to the COO and plays a crucial role in both project execution and company growth initiatives.
What Youll Be Doing
Leadership & Strategy
Define and execute the vision for the water/wastewater division.
Guide operational planning team development and innovation.
Support business development and contract negotiations with public-sector clients.
Project Oversight
Lead large-scale municipal projects including treatment plants force mains pump/lift stations and tunnel systems.
Ensure delivery within scope budget and timeline parameters.
Coordinate cross-functional teams subconsultants and regulatory bodies.
Client Partnership
Act as a senior point of contact for city and utility agency leaders.
Build trust-based relationships with key municipal clients (e.g. City of Austin).
Present technical findings and proposals to client stakeholders.
Team Development
Recruit coach and retain high-performing engineers and project managers.
Promote a culture of quality accountability and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all work meets state local and federal standards.
Apply best practices in quality assurance and technical excellence.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas 12 years of engineering experience with a strong track record in water/wastewater infrastructure Background in municipal utility projects including treatment plants pipelines and tunneling Proven leadership with direct team management and strategic oversight Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Masters preferred) A well-documented project portfolio highlighting recent municipal work
Preferred (But Not Required)
Prior experience with City of Austin projects or Texas municipalities
Experience working in engineering firms with 3550 employees
Familiarity with Texas regulations and agency standards
Advanced certifications in project management or related disciplines
