Job Description

Shenandoah Universitys Office of Pharmacy Practice is accepting applications for an Experiential Education Coordinator. This is a full-time benefited position located at the Health Professions Building in Winchester Virginia.

The Experiential Education Coordinator will conduct the day-to-day activities necessary todeliver the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) programs at the School of Pharmacy. The Experiential Education Coordinator will interact with students preceptors faculty and staff. This position requires the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. This position reports to theDirector of Experiential Education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following (other duties may be assigned):

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • Perform activities involved in daily operations of the IPPE and APPE programs.
  • Review analyze and problem-solve issues related to student placement and program management of the IPPE and APPE program.
  • Work within CORE ELMS (experiential database) for pertinent items pertaining to IPPE and APPE including student placement student and preceptor schedules evaluations of the IPPE and APPE program and assessment of outcomes.
  • Recruit IPPE and APPE sites and preceptors to meet the demands of the school and student preferences.
  • Educate student pharmacists regarding items pertaining to IPPE and APPE.
  • Schedule IPPE and APPE for students during the designated timeframes and in sites that meet the quality evaluation of the school.
  • Assure all new preceptors and/or sites have been reviewed and approved by the school and have been educated on the schools policies and procedures for IPPE and APPE and pertinent student affairs.
  • Conduct and ensure the completion of regular quality assessments of and visits to IPPE and APPE sites and preceptors.
  • Work jointly and collaboratively with the Experiential Coordinators faculty and staff at the school.
  • Participate in School of Pharmacy and University activities as requested.

Required Skills

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative judgment and discretion in carrying out duties.
  • Knowledge for proficient use of computer hardware and software and other contemporary office equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Knowledge of applicable policies practices and procedures.
  • Good organization and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize work meet deadlines and provide attention to detail.
  • Other related experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
