POSITION SUMMARY

The goal of Profoundrys internship program is simple: We want to teach you how to transform your education and passion for building a better future into practical skills that will help you maximize your impact. To get you there youll have an experienced mentor who will be invested in your growth provide regular feedback and help guide you as you enter into the world of professional consulting. As a small business we give our interns more responsibilities than other organizations to accelerate their development. We also might be biased but our clients are some of the most innovative interesting companies in Canada. So if you spend your Fall with us you will gain exposure to a breadth of fascinating projects and clients across our various service areas. You wont get that experience anywhere else.


Our ideal candidates for this internship will be undergraduate or postgraduate students enrolled in programs relevant to what we do such as Environmental Engineering Environmental Studies Environmental Biology Finance Public Policy and more. To excel in the role you will need to be a strong communicator be extremely well organized be able to work as part of a team or on your own and have strong problem-solving skills.Were also looking for someone who is flexible to support numerical / quantitativeanalysis and research writing and engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research & Projects

  • Support climate change and sustainability-related projects with the accountability for delivering research and general project support to senior management;
  • Undertake web and literature research for specific projects.
  • Develop initial analysis of findings for draft reports and deliverables to clients.
  • Use spreadsheets and other tools to quantitative assess and model GHG emissions emission reductions costs and other metrics and generate a range of outputs
  • Preparation of and assistance with the development of draft reports and key subject briefs including content review and preparation format and presentation enhancement.
  • Hold accountability for completing specific elements of client projects / work.
  • Under guidance from senior management lead small projects.


Proposals

  • Support the development of proposals including taking the lead on the overall coordination and writing for various proposal sections.


Presentations

  • Prepare presentation decks.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency with quantitative analysis including using MS Excel and a knack for systematically analyzing and understanding new and varied technologies processes and business types.
  • Strong ability to research literature and internet-based sources consolidate information into concise findings and effectively communicate results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A university degree (or enrolled in a current program) in a relevant science engineering public policy finance or other program and/or equivalent experience including demonstrated ability to approach problems from a systems perspective.
  • 0-4 years related employment experience.


VALUABLE ASSETS

  • Previous GHG accounting and emissions experience
  • Finance skills (e.g. read a corporate balance sheet complete ROI calculations)
  • Supply chain experience
  • Economic Modelling
  • Experience with digital capabilities (e.g. reporting tools)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI)
  • French language skills
  • Project management experience
