A rare opportunity has become available for an experienced and qualified Art Therapist to join the Montefiore on a permanent part time basis. This position will complement our dedicated and extensive client engagement department and work closely with our diverse allied health staff.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Holistically develop and maintain better practice art therapy programs
- Establish and coordinate outcome based therapeutic art programs
- Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for resident care needs
Essential Criteria:
- Masters in Art Therapy or equivalent
- Be eligible for membership of ANZACATA and comply with the professional standards of the Creative Therapy profession
- Ability to effectively supervise staff (e.g. volunteers students etc.)
- Excellent communications skills (written verbal and interpersonal skills)
- Operate effectively in a team and autonomously
- Excellent organisational skills and time management
- Computer skills across a range of programs include Microsoft Word and Excel
Desired Criteria:
- Experience working in an aged care setting
- Experience in therapeutic care planning
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills an ability to work within a team and have a passion and genuine desire to work with an older population. Previous experience working within aged care and with people living with dementia will be highly regarded.
