Your role:

We are seeking a new member to join our diverse team and bring leadership to the HR function for the United States from our state-of-the-art New York Executive Briefing Center located in the heart of Midtown. In this role you will collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry as they work to develop and promote a world-class product for our customers.

As the HR Director you will be dedicated to excellence playing a crucial role in cultivating and advancing Global Relays culture and organizational processes. You will bring leadership to all aspects of the HR function and work to significantly enhance employee engagement.

Your job:

You will report directly to the VP Human Resources and will collaborate closely with our global HR team to ensure that local practices align with global objectives. This role encompasses full responsibility for all US HR operations. We are seeking a leader with strong strategic thinking skills extensive HR knowledge and exceptional attention to detail. In this position you will play a vital role in shaping the US people strategy while maintaining operational excellence and ensuring regulatory compliance.

As the HR Director for the US you will have extensive experience in managing large-scale hiring initiatives a strong network of recruiting and industry connections a thorough understanding of New York and federal employment law and a genuine passion for fostering a culture in which employees can perform at their best.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle in the USincluding recruitment onboarding employee relations performance reviews compensation planning and offboarding.
  • Ensure full compliance with State laws and US federal employment laws.
  • Work with the global Recruitment team and lead the US recruiting operations to enhance and maintain our scalable hiring strategies to support rapid growth while maintaining quality and diversity.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership in workforce planning team structure performance and retention.
  • Partner with HR leaders in Canada and the United Kingdom to align processes share best practices and ensure consistency in global HR initiatives.
  • Keep policies up to date proactively identify and address legal risk and ensure documentation and processes are always audit-ready.
  • Manage HR systems and ensure data policies and procedures with a high level of precision ensuring accuracy in compliance reporting and employee/candidate data management.
  • Lead and support initiatives that foster an inclusive open high-performance culture and reinforce company values through excellent onboarding communication and employee programming.
  • Leverage your existing professional network and build new talent pipelines through strategic partnerships and sourcing channels.

About you:

  • 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience with at least 5 years in a senior-level or director role.
  • Bachelors degree in HR Business or related field required; Masters or HR certification (SPHR/SHRM-SCP) is an asset.
  • Experience in building and growing an HR team.
  • Proven success leading high-volume recruitment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating with global HR teams and aligning regional HR practices with global strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of New York and federal employment law and HR compliance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in documentation systems and process execution.
  • Strong critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills with comfortable with navigating through ambiguity.
  • Proven record of taking responsibility and using good judgment including exercise of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Track record of culture building and improving employee experience and engagement at all levels within the organization.
  • Well-connected within the recruiting and HR community.
  • Work experience in high tech industry is an asset.

Compensation:

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with applicable pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise skills education and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive health benefits program including extended health coverage and short-term / long-term disability insurance. Employees receive annual allotted vacation days which increase based on tenure. New York - Base Salary Range:
$130000$150000 USD
