King County Metros commuter van program leads the nation for having the most public vanpools. Collection and processing fares from customers are an important part of the commuter van program. Rider fares cover 100% of the capital operating costs and a portion of the administrative costs of the program.
In this role you will:
Process monthly reports - including payments and ridership details from volunteer vanpool bookkeepers
Match participant payment records supplied by bookkeepers to employer-subsidy records
Manage data on employer subsidy programs
Verify and reconcile a variety of financial transactions
Develop and document processes and data collection and reporting
Support and partner with Accounting Rideshare Services Representatives finance staff and employers We are looking for a team player who will support 5 Rideshare Services Representatives who coordinate about 1000 vanpool groups.
We are looking for a team player who will support 5 Rideshare Services Representatives who coordinate about 1000 vanpool groups. Our ideal candidate is detailed-oriented and experienced in completing tasks requiring accuracy accountability and outstanding customer service.
This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) Fiscal Specialist II. In addition this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future career service vacancies that may occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility pool will be retained for 12 months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.
We are looking for candidates that meet the following minimum qualifications:
Two years of experience providing accounting support performing financial system transactions performing data entry/validation data analysis and reporting an Associates degree in accounting business administration finance or closely related field OR any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills knowledge and ability required to perform the work.
Experience performing high-repetition tasks requiring attention to detail.
Skill providing fiscal and data support in a high-volume fast-paced customer service work environment.
Skill in numerical analysis of financial and or program-related data. Skill developing queries and reports from different data sources.
Experience with conflict resolution.
Experience providing excellent customer service in person through email via telephone and through virtual settings demonstrating discretion patience etiquette and professionalism.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully with a diverse group of individuals from a variety of different positions and backgrounds.
Ability to manage and prioritize workload to accomplish tasks on defined timelines.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Skill documenting business processes including developing operational procedures and diagramming work processes.
Desired Qualifications:
Hands on experience with King Countys Oracle Financial System.
Experience with applying continuous improvement techniques.
Knowledge and interest in Metros commuter van program.
Necessary Special Requirements:
A valid Washington State drivers license within thirty days after hire or the ability to travel throughout the county in a timely manner is also required.

Teleworking Requirement The work associated with this position will be performed through a combination of teleworking and working in the office.
