Job Description

Position Overview & Responsibilities

The Clinical Immunology Laboratory at OMRF is a nationally recognized referral center specializing in complex autoantibody testing to support the diagnosis and management of autoimmune rheumatic diseases with a focus on systemic lupus Sjogrens disease systemic sclerosis vasculitis and inflammatory myositis. We are seeking a conscientious detail-oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team and contribute to high-complexity testing efforts. This role involves both technical expertise and the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative research and clinical environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying myositis-specific and myositis-associated autoantibodies and must be comfortable adhering to CAP and University Radioactivity guidelines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform high-complexity immunologic assays including tissue culture western blotting immunoprecipitation (with emphasis on RNA immunoprecipitation) electrophoresis and autoradiography
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results to aid in diagnostic and prognostic assessments
  • Accurately record findings and maintain detailed records in a standard database
  • Ensure all laboratory work aligns with CAP and University Radioactivity safety standards
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and contribute to daily operational functions
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication and coordination with the lab team


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS/MLT degree typically in one of the biological sciences physics or chemistry or equivalent years of professional relevant laboratory experience
  • Basic knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Office software
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform precise and accurate work
  • Effective communication skills with coworkers and supervisors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years of relevant laboratory bench experience
  • Fluency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or other professional licensure in a related field


Work Hours

  • Typically Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Must be willing to work occasional overtime including after hours weekends and holidays
