The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) team has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2) in Huntsville AL. We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio area which design build test deploy operate and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers.
Position Responsibilities
Support the PAC-3 Seeker factory by providing shop floor technician guidance executable work instructions and selection of capable tooling and equipment.
Partner with Integrated Product Teams to define processes tooling equipment etc for new product designs.
Participate in analyzing product development innovative producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies.
Knowledge of how the business and organization operates; knowledge of policies practices trends and information affecting the business and organization understand the competition and the marketplace
Conceptualizes and oversees the implementation of the program architecture for build.
Develops manufacturing plans or concepts for high level program requirements.
Resolves complex technical problems.
Organizes technical aspects of proposal development.
Develops and authors new engineering principles theories and advanced technologies. Develops advanced design solutions.
Conducts research resulting in new product or business opportunities. Consults on lean principles and technologies for enterprise wide initiatives.
Documents and communicates producibility best practices. Identifies training needs. Establishes procedures standards protocols and reporting requirements.
Understand how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understand the cultures of organizations.
Using a variety of media clearly convey information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message
Make customers and their needs a primary focus of ones actions
Provide products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards regulatory requirements and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life not accepting creating or passing any defects and speaking up
Identify and correct conditions and behaviors that affect employee public and customer safety; uphold safety standards; demonstrate proactive safety culture leadership
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
2 years in manufacturing engineering or equivalent role
2 years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Active Secret Clearance
Experience in MESci
Experience in medium to high volume assembly
