What youll do...

AEDT - Associate Experience and Digital Transformation

The AEDT Technology team is part of Walmart Global Tech. We are a group of engineers and software leaders. We build technology to connect and enable Walmart associates to accomplish their job functions with ease. We use cutting-edge technology with a focus on AI. We are continually reinventing and improving processes and productivity software to enable enhanced associate productivity.

What youll do:

The Group Director of Software Engineering will be a pivotal technology leader overseeing a global team of engineers and driving the development of next-generation platforms for Walmart Global Technology. Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide senior level technical leadership for AEDT organization in Bentonville. Set up best practices for OE security and project reviews.
  • Consolidate data streams and data platforms/data lakes. Help us get to single sources of truth for all of our operational data across AEDT.
  • Take ownership of several AI Application domains such as AskSam and parts of MyAssistant
  • Help support location leadership for the AEDT organization and set bast practices for IT helpdesk.
  • Lead a team of senior engineering leaders and architects to design build and maintain the next-generation associate productivity tools on a global scale.
  • Collaborate with product business and operations leaders to define prioritize and execute the product and technology roadmap ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.

This role requires a visionary leader who can balance technical expertise with strategic business acumen and who is passionate about shaping the future.

What youll bring:

  • 10 years of experience managing large engineering organizations (200 engineers) with a proven track record of leading senior engineering leaders and architects.
  • In-depth knowledge of large-scale distributed system technologies
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence across functional boundaries driving consensus and aligning teams toward common goals.
  • Demonstrated success in hiring mentoring and growing top-tier engineering talent creating high-performance high-impact teams.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or related technical field) with 20 years of industry experience in engineering and technology leadership.
  • A strong bias toward innovation with a passion for continuously evolving technology solutions and introducing new approaches to solve complex problems.
  • Associate empathy and deep understanding of associate needs with the ability to create technology solutions that enhance the user experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $195000.00-$370000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

8 years experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2: 10 years experience in software engineering or related area.

5 years supervisory experience.
