Database Developer/Administrator
Location: 100% onsite in Bethesda MD
Clearance: US Citizenship eligible for a Public Trust
NetImpact Strategies Inc. is seeking a Database Developer/Administrator to support a Federal Agency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle and MySQL database administration performance tuning cloud migration and automation in Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop administer and maintain Oracle and MySQL databases across Linux and Windows platforms.- Perform installations patching upgrades backups and migrations including Oracle 12c and MySQL 5.6.
- Architect and manage AWS RDS PostgreSQL solutions and facilitate cloud migrations using AWS DMS.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning index management and system monitoring.
- Manage database security user roles and access control to ensure data protection.
- Automate database administration tasks using Linux shell scripting.
- Provide 24x7 support for production databases including troubleshooting and incident response.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Minimum 5 years of database development experience.
Extensive hands-on experience (15 years) with Oracle RAC installation configuration and administration.
Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for application development and code reviews.
Demonstrated ability to work independently prioritize tasks and communicate effectively at all levels.
Preferred
Previous federal IT consulting experience (preferred)
