Job Description
The Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Irvine Spectrum Lake Forest is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of hotel facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks troubleshooting issues and maintaining a safe and functional environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance of the hotels mechanical electrical and plumbing systems including HVAC units elevators and lighting systems.
Repairs:
Address maintenance requests and repairs in a timely manner including guest room and public area issues such as plumbing electrical and carpentry problems.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely adhering to Hiltons safety standards and local building codes. Maintain records of maintenance work and compliance with safety regulations.
Emergency Support:
Respond to emergencies such as power outages plumbing issues and other urgent maintenance situations to minimize downtime and maintain hotel operations.
Guest Service:
Provide excellent service when interacting with guests. Address maintenance concerns promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
Inventory Management:
Manage and track parts tools and supplies for the maintenance department ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments such as Housekeeping and Front Desk to resolve maintenance issues that may affect guest satisfaction.
General Maintenance:
Perform basic carpentry painting and repairs of hotel fixtures and equipment. Assist with upkeep of the exterior of the property including landscaping and parking lot maintenance.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance. HVAC electrical and plumbing certifications are a plus.
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of electrical plumbing and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency with power tools and general maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders scaffolding and elevated platforms.
- Must be able to stand walk and work in various conditions for extended periods.
Availability:
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as well as be on call for emergencies.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational training or certification in electrical plumbing or HVAC systems is highly desirable.
