Essex North Shore is seeking a Plumbing Teacher to join the programfor the 2025-2026 school year.
Candidates must hold Massachusetts Journeyman and Master Plumberlicenses.
Construction OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred but required within three years of employment.
OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification preferred but required within five years of employment.
Satisfactory CORI DCF Central Registry SAFIS and SORI required.
Bilingual preferred.
CAREER TECHNICAL & AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION TEACHER
QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate Licensure by DESE in Career Area
REPORTS TO: Director of Career Technical & Agricultural Education
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Map each grade curriculum to the State Frameworks.
- Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Vocational-Technical Frameworks in the specified career area.
- Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting.
- Instruct students in the field when participating in outside projects.
- Document student performance student behavior and student achievement within the career education setting.
- Provides review and reinforcement of new concepts; supports students in the completion of their assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of students IEPs as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments tests and quizzes in collaboration with special educators if required.
- Develop resources for students to be successful such as models graphic organizers and copies of class notes video clips demonstrations etc.
- Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department.
- Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are cross-curricular and project-based.
- Collaborate with the Cooperative Education Coordinator to place students in their career area.
- Maintain documentation including student performance behavior progress data notation of student absences/tardies and conversations with parents and administrators.
- Provide content support outside of the general education classroom as necessary.
- Integrate technology into the curriculum.
- Respond to any correspondence both oral and written that comes from a parent or guardian.
- Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas.
- Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House.
- Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Board members.
- Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Coordinator of Career Technical & Agricultural Education.
