Education & Training SpecialistLocation: Nashville TN (hybrid)Status: Full TimeHours: 40/week

SUMMARY

The Education and Training Specialist is essential to the ongoing success of the support and development of people within the organization. This position coordinates and analyzes training activities and opportunities within the Department of Education. It is essential that this role utilizes creativity and attention to detail to assure a positive and successful environment around learning.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Training

  • Coordinator/point person for all Alive Hospice staff trainings
  • Responsible for scheduling on calendar coordination of meeting room set up and take down food orders announcements flyers and other tasks related to staff training events.
  • Work with staff educators to ensure each educational opportunity is managed from the beginning through evaluations.
  • Maintain training materials for all staff. This includes travel and contract staff.
  • Collect and maintain in-service documentation for employees who obtain education outside of Alive Hospice.

New Employee and Volunteer Orientation

  • Responsible for coordination of new employee orientation for all staff.
  • Coordinates with Clinical nurse educator for new employee skills labs (as appropriate).
  • Secures speakers from various departments to present at New Employee orientation and keeps them informed of any changes to schedule.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources to schedule staff for Orientation and Skills labs.
  • Collects and tracks New Employee orientation materials.
  • Provides necessary documentation for employee human resource files within 24 hours after NEVO.

Other

  • Coordinate tracking of on-line education in HealthStream.
  • Prepare and track continuing education (CE) hours for each Alive Hospice event offering CE hours within 24 hours after event.
  • Schedule mandatory education as directed by Director of Education.
  • Maintain staff login information for HealthStream Lippincott and other applications that may be associated with training.
  • Inactivate staff in HealthStream and Lippincott at time of separation from company.
  • Function as HealthStream Administrator. Proficient in virtual meeting technology
  • Provide excellent customer service in person on the telephone via e-mail and via Teams.
  • Function as HealthStream Authoring Agent as needed.
  • Assist Clinical Educators and other departments with assignments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree or higher preferred; Associates degree or equivalent required; Similar work experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word Outlook Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Publisher and Visio desirable.
  • Expert organizational and time management skills required.
  • Proficiency in HealthStream administration and authoring highly desirable; if candidate does not have these skills at hire training will be completed within 60 days of hire.
