Job Description

JOB GOAL:

To advance the colleges mission vision principles values and strategic initiatives through continuous improvement decisions.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision the Lab Asset Coordinator is the primary coordinator for the colleges lab assets that are used for educational purposes. This role will conduct lab asset overviews organize departmental assets compile data on departmental assets coordinate preventative maintenance standards for these assets and work directly with college staff regarding all departmental assets. Ability to multitask problem solve be detail-oriented and have high level on communication skills in the absence of direct supervision while remaining patient and calm in high stress situations and emergencies.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with physical inventory and data collection of college/department assets.
  • Determine in accordance with predetermined standards which assets should be inventoried.
  • Assist in the lab asset replacement processes using various funding priorities.
  • Manage lab asset barcoding procedures.
  • Gather evaluate and organize asset data in computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to meet college/department requirements.
  • Coordinate with multiple divisions and departments on lab asset moves replacements and disposal.
  • Coordinate and maintain preventive maintenance schedules in CMMS for all assets.
  • Track and manage asset warranties.
  • Maintain specific compliance related to asset management
  • Work with design teams contractors and commissioning agents to capture asset data for new and replacement lab equipment.
  • Assist with parts inventory management activities related to lab assets
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work effectively and accurately in an atmosphere with frequent interruptions. Maintain a high degree of flexibility.
  • Possess strong computer skills and be proficient with various software programs.
  • Ability to perform manual labor in warehouse conditions along with various outdoor weather environments. Ability for continuous physical effort.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office and warehouse setting. Frequent (34-66%) standing pushing pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting walking repetitive motion talking and hearing. Occasional (10-33%) lifting up to 50 lbs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree plus 1-3 years experience
  • Computer skills knowledge of standard computer software and office equipment required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSLICENSES CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree plus 1-3 years of technical level experience
  • Use of Excel Bluebeam or Asset Management Software
  • Data analysis experience preferred
  • Previous Asset Planning Experience
