    • Classification - ASO5 - Administrative Services Officer L5 - $85790.00 to $95413.00 Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice Benefits
  • Part Time - Term Contract (temporary until Dec 2025)

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CaFHS team as a Aboriginal Child and Family Support Consultant (ACCFSC) where you will be responsible for:

  • Work as part of a supportive team to deliver responsive child-focused and family-centred support to Aboriginal families with children aged 05.
  • Provide culturally appropriate parenting support through home and community-based services.
  • Support Aboriginal families to access and engage with Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS) programs and broader community health services.
  • Promote improved health development and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal children and families.
  • Offer Aboriginal cultural consultancy and advice to team members to support culturally safe practice.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven ability to engage in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal communities.
  • Proven ability to relate to and be accepted by Aboriginal families of diverse backgrounds and adopt a non-judgemental approach.
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to intervene in crisis situations and assist families to develop problem solving skills.
  • Experience in successfully working with Aboriginal families (infants children and parents including fathers) with complex issues.
  • Experience in the implementation of health promotion strategies including health education community development and group work.
