Job Description
Casting Process Operation - Operate and monitor melting furnaces die casting machines or sand casting equipment. Ensure proper pouring molding and solidification machine settings for optimal and position molds and cores for casting.
Inspect molds for defects and ensure proper coating application.
Handle sand or permanent mold processes as in metal melting and pouring operations ensuring correct temperature and composition.
Follow safety procedures to prevent spills and burns.
Use ladles or automatic pouring machines inspect castings for defects such as porosity cracks or misruns.
Measure and check dimensions using gauges and instruments.
Report defects and assist in corrective routine checks on machines furnaces and casting equipment.
Clean and maintain workstations and machinery.
Assist in troubleshooting operational issues.
