Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer required for a manufacture of specialist automation equipment based near Andover. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer will be responsible for the design of custom-built machinery and automation systems.
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer / Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer will have experience within a similar role and be proficient with 3D CAD packages including SolidWorks and Autodesk.
This is an onsite role the successful Mechanical Design Engineer will need to be commutable to the office near Andover.
Package:
- 35000-45000 Dependent on Experience
- Annual bonus

Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to understand technical requirements
- Develop concept designs for customer-built machinery and automation systems
- Provide cost estimates for project tenders
- Create General Arrangement (GA) drawings
- Generate Bills of Materials and liaise with suppliers
- Improve and adapt existing products
- Support installation and commissioning on-site as needed
Requirements:
- Experience with 3D CAD programmes (SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor)
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification (preferred)
- Understanding of sheet metal and fabrication design would be advantageous
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Commutable to Andover
