Ashdown Park Hotel East Sussex has a rare and exciting opportunity available for a

MaintenanceManager

Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club is a stunning grade two listed 106 bedroom country house set in 186 acres of beautiful grounds on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. An award winning 4 Red Star Hotel fine dining 2 AA Rosette Restaurant and fully equipped Country Club and Spa we offer our guests a complete experience.

Elite Hotels is continually investing in Ashdown Park Hotel with an annual refurbishment programme. The role of Maintenance Manager is an integral role within the leadership team supporting the Hotel on a day-to-day basis.

As Maintenance Manager you will lead a dedicated team of experienced Maintenance Assistants and together you will conduct day to day repairs and preventative maintenance as well as management of ongoing maintenance contracts while committed to our sustainability agenda and safe working practices.

This is a hands-on role and our successful candidate will understand our commitment to high standards of customer service in all areas of the operation towards both Guests and colleagues. The role will require strong organisation leadership and communication skills.

You will report directly to the General Manager taking overall responsibility for the general day to day maintenance of the building as well as statutory compliance. You will make recommendations for larger scale project work and you and your team will also take on smaller projects in house.

We are open 365 days a year seven days a week so we need to be able to ensure our guests receive outstanding service when its needed. The Maintenance Manager and their team provide flexible coverage which will include some on call duties.

The ideal applicant will have

  • Proven experience as Maintenance Manager/Supervisor in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication literacy and numeracy skills
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Regulations
  • A skill based qualification such as Plumbing Electrical or Carpentry etc
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of basic maintenance repairs
  • Budget management and project planning skills gained through previous experience
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A commitment to internal and external customer service
