As a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment bank in Foreign Exchange Global Business you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Participate in the Design phase and interact with various teams other technology team and stakeholders.
- Build the new platform using state of the art proprietary technology from JPMorgan Chase.
- Write documentation. Work with business and technology partners to identify and mitigate technical issues
- Maintain and support applications for trading and pricing technologies and related technical infrastructure utilized by the firms FX Option trading businesses.
- Develop secure high quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Provide system related solutions for risk management and trade settlement issues
- Add to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) Python C Java
- Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
- Solid technology background with experience in object oriented programming
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Knowledge of Python
- Experience with SecDB / Athena / Quartz platform
- Currency Trading Business knowledge
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
