About the role

We have a new opportunity for experiencedSenior Maintenance Officerto join our Alice Springs Operations team and support maintenance services across our three facilities namely Hetti Perkins Home for the Aged Old Timers Aged Care Facility and Flynn Lodge. This busy and rewarding role is offered on a permanent full-time basis of 38 hours per week with a salary of $33.22 - $38.47 / hour gross base (dependent on skills and experience).

As the Senior Maintenance Officer you will support Maintenance Operations across the three facilities by responding to allocating and supporting the execution of daily maintenance requests. You will oversee ARRCS preventative maintenance program and work closely with external contractors to ensure ARRCS buildings grounds and equipment are maintained in in appropriate conditions.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate previous experience within a maintenance or facility background. You will have held roles in a Team Leader capacity with experience in staff management and hold a trade qualification.

This opportunity will suit a proactive person who enjoys leading a team. You will be a person who is keen to or understands Aged Care and enjoy being proactive to support our residents and their home and livelihood. You will be a literal thinker and have outstanding problem-solving skills. In addition you will enjoy working amongst our elderly residents and respectful that your workplace is their home.

Skills & experience

To be considered for this role you must submit a resume identifying the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 3-years prior experience in a maintenance / handy man role.
  • Formal Trade qualification and holds or willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the understanding of chemical Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and associated safety precautions.
  • Demonstrated experience of hand tools equipment and safety.
  • Previous experience in staff mentoring or management.
  • Ability to problem solve and use initiative to maximise positive outcomes.
  • Presents as a caring and supportive person who enjoys working within the Aged Care industry.
