Oxford College invites applications for a Staff Clinician to join our team at the Center for Counseling and Wellbeing. We are looking for an experienced clinician to serve our students typically highly motivated for therapy presenting with issues ranging from developmentally expected challenges of college life to more significant impairment and distress. We are a small two-year campus that is part of Emory University where our students transition to after their sophomore year. This is a regular 10-month position aligned with the August - May school schedule with vacation as well as health insurance and retirement benefits. Salary is competitive and paid across the 12 months of the year with benefits intact across the entire year

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides culturally competent intake assessments triage appointments crisis intervention case management individual therapy group therapy outreach services consultation community referrals and participation in a multidisciplinary approach to the clinical care of Oxford College students at the Counseling and Career Services (CCS) center.
  • Serves as a professional resource providing outreach and consultation to the Oxford community. Performs other related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Clinical responsibilities of the position include conducting intake assessments providing short-term counseling services and occasional crisis intervention/triage assessments. We welcome candidates with interests or experience running counseling groups. Position also involves occasional consultation to parents faculty staff or fellow students regarding struggling students. To be seriously considered for this position candidates must show demonstrated experience and skill in delivering culturally informed clinical and outreach services to a diverse student body.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A masters degree or higher from an accredited institution in an applied mental health field and one year of prior counseling experience in an outpatient setting as a licensed provider.
  • Licensure to practice independently in the state of Georgia in your discipline in an applied mental health field (i.e. LPC LCSW Licensed Psychologist) within one year of hire.
  • Licensure to practice in Georgia under supervision is still required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated engagement in serving a diverse community and delivery of culturally-informed care.
  • A masters degree or higher in an applied mental health field (e.g. Social Work Counseling Psychology) from an accredited institution
  • Two years prior clinical counseling experience in an outpatient setting and experience providing mental health services to a young adult population.
  • A strong preference for candidates with experience in a college or university counseling center.
  • Expertise and experience treating survivors of trauma.
  • Experience/interest in sexual assault prevention.
  • Experience and expertise in providing services to students representing neurodiversity.
  • Experience in assessing substance abuse in a young adult population on a campus setting.
