At The Childrens Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf (CCCBSD) we provide transformative person-centered education and services for deaf and/or disabled individuals in a language-rich inclusive setting.

As a key member of CCCBSDs nursing team the part-time School Nurse will help ensure the health safety and well-being of students and staff across campus. Reporting to the Director of Nursing this role plays an integral part in supporting students with complex medical needs administering medications and tube feedings and collaborating with families faculty and private-duty nurses. The School Nurse will also assist in faculty training emergency response and documentation of health services.
Establish and manage a comprehensive school health program consistent with Massachusetts guidelines and statutes
Maintain comprehensive and confidential student health records
Provide daily medical care and medically prescribed interventions including medication and tube feedings
Develop nursing diagnoses and care plans to support student health and educational outcomes
Respond to student and staff medical emergencies and injuries with appropriate first aid
Administer PRN medications and maintain supplies of OTC medications
Consult with the school physician and leadership to review and update health policies and procedures
Train and supervise faculty on individualized student health protocols
Coordinate state-mandated screenings and immunization reporting
Collaborate with staff to improve the health and emotional climate of the school
Support infection control and communicable disease prevention practices
Prepare reports for internal and external health agencies as required
Valid Massachusetts RN license
CPR and First Aid certification required
Strong pediatric experience and comfort supporting students with complex medical needs
Excellent teamwork communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently in a school-based setting
Experience working in private schools or with diverse learning populations is preferred

This is a school-based role supporting students with diverse physical sensory and behavioral needs. Some lifting of medical or mobility equipment may be required. Participation in emergency preparedness drills is expected. Reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.
