Job Description

Center School part of the Positive Regard Network invites applicants for the position of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Position requires current MA COTA certification and a Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy; the position serves our private school locations in Holyoke and Chicopee MA. Under the supervision of the OT/R the COTA will perform therapies record notes of each visit and follow up with students and classroom staff. Services to be provided include individual and group sessions informal assessments and classroom consultations under the supervision of the OT/R. Position is full time 40 hours per week 52 weeks per year. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Outstanding benefits Responsibilities: Follows treatment plan developed in collaboration with the OT/R by teaching techniques in the school student occupational therapy records by recording students progress for use by the OT/ mentoring and training for all staff delivering occupational therapy services in the conjunction with the OT/R collaborates with Teachers and other allied health staff to provide comprehensive and appropriate services to conjunction with the OT/R writes IEPs in conjunction with Teachers and attends IEP meetings as implements and manages occupational therapy curriculum and assessment materials. Develops treatment protocols and administers occupational therapy assessments including the schools swimming pool as a therapeutic environment to students and prepares corresponding reports as updates and reports for presentation at district team meetings and attends team meetings as requested. Assists the floor in the mornings with student ADL skills modeling for staff best practice in supporting students OT ADL and transition goals. Plans and provides training for school staff as needed or to professional licensure standards while upholding the school model of professional licensure and participates in conferences workshops or other courses for professional development.
