Glimpse of the Job
The Texas A&M University Cyclotron Institute is looking to hire a new Electronics Technician II. The Electronics Technician II will install operate and repair a variety of electronic equipment used for research instructional or plant operation activities.
Opportunities to Contribute:
Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits using necessary equipment.
Repair mechanical and electrical equipment as .
Perform preventative maintenance as necessary and instruct students on the proper use of equipment.
Help design and fabricate electronic equipment.
Document repair and design electronics systems using AutoCAD and/or pCad as .
Establish and oversee standard operating procedures.
Perform research tasks.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of related experience as an electronics technician.
Knowledge of test equipment spectrum analyzers digital voltmeters oscilloscopes radio test equipment meters signal generators amp meters voltmeters and other digital instruments.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess:
Associates degree/vocational school.
Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane and operate and repair electrical switch gear.
Ability to repair power supply.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hires education and experience.
