As an Accounting Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations ensuring accuracy in financial reporting maintaining internal controls and supporting budgeting and forecasting. Reporting to the President and working closely with our external accounting partner playing a hands-on role in financial management while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and HR regulations. This role also works alongside our Virtual CFO ensuring smooth financial operations.

Objectives of this role:
- Develop and implement financial processes and controls to maintain fiscal health.
- Ensure compliance with accounting tax and employment regulations.
- Provide accurate financial reporting and insights for strategic decision-making.
- Lead HR administration and employee benefits program ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Summary of responsibilities:
Financial management & accounting
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable and payable general ledger payroll outstanding transactions and revenue recognition.
- Oversee media billing reconciliation ensuring alignment between purchase orders vendor invoices and platform spend with approved budgets.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting preparing regular updates for the President and virtual CFO.
- Collaborate with our external accounting partners to ensure efficient processing of payments and expenses.
- Provide data-driven insights and variance analysis to support financial forecasting alongside the CFO and Account Service team.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process by supporting the CFO and President with reliable financial data and projections.
- Monitor trends in revenue expenses and operational costs to identify opportunities for financial efficiency.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
HR administration
- Manage corporate insurance requirements across the agency building and business partners.
- Maintainemployee recordsin both our project management tool (Function Point) and ourHR management software (BambooHR).
- Track and managetime off leaves and employment status updates.
- Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance retirement plans and perks.
What you bring:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial reporting and compliance.
- Experience managing HR payroll and employment law compliance.
- Proficiency in financial software HR management tools and payroll systems.
- Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience with QuickBooks Online and BambooHR considered a strong asset
- FunctionPoint knowledge is an asset
- CPA designation is an asset
