Transylvania University invites applications for Assistant Director of Admissions. The Assistant Director of Admissions serves as a vital and creative member of a high-performing enrollment management team with a specialized focus on strategic digital communication. This role is responsible for the energetic execution of various recruitment activities including managing a small recruitment territory crafting compelling content within our CRM (Slate) and maintaining our social media presence. They act as a key point of contact proactively guiding prospective and admitted applicants through their enrollment journey. This position is a critical stakeholder in upholding the offices overall strategy working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including coaches faculty and other departments to recruit and support students during their college journey. They also ensure strong alignment with the Director of Operations for technical Slate processes and the Office of Marketing and Communication for institutional branding and messaging synergy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- CRM & Digital Communications Lead: Serve as the primary content creator and manager for admission-specific communications within the CRM (Slate) including drafting editing and segmenting emails texts and other digital outreach.
- Social Media Management: Develop and maintain engaging content across the Office of Admissions social media channels ensuring consistency with institutional brand guidelines and messaging.
- Territory Management: From inquiry to enrollment manage recruitment territory goals within a small assigned territory by initiating responding to and fostering connecting relationships with prospective students and their families.
- Recruitment Travel: Build and maintain recruitment activities within the assigned territory including domestic travel primarily concentrated in the fall peak recruitment season.
- Brand Representation: Enthusiastically represents the values mission and brand of Transylvania University in all interactions.
- Data-Driven Approach: Utilize market data and performance metrics to develop evaluate and optimize recruitment and communication efforts.
- Campus Visits & Interviews: Conduct interviews and personalized tours for prospective students and their families.
- Application Guidance: Guide students and families through the admission application process including questions regarding timelines scholarships & financial aid and admission decisions.
- Application Review: Evaluate applications for admission and make recommendations to the admissions committee regarding individual student applications.
- Event Participation: Assist with and attend all campus recruitment events including evenings and weekends ensuring a strong visit experience.
- Multi-Channel Communication: Communicate creatively and effectively with prospective students and their families via phone email text social media and other means of communications.
- Student-Centric Service: Provide extraordinary student-centric customer service at every touchpoint.
- Professional Network: Maintain alignment with a peer professional network and appropriate organizations.
- Operational Alignment: Work closely with the Director of Operations for technical CRM (Slate) execution and data integrity.
- Brand Alignment: Collaborate with the Office of Marketing and Communication to ensure all admissions messaging aligns with institutional content branding and overall communication strategy.
- Additional Duties: As assigned which may include event planning outreach and awareness initiatives and leadership in special projects.A bachelors degree is required; 1-3 years of relevant work experience in admissions marketing communications or a related field is preferred.
Education and Experience

- Valid drivers license required.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication with proven ability to craft engaging and targeted content for diverse audiences (especially for CRM and social media).
- Knowledge of and an enthusiasm for a liberal arts education.
- Proven ability to organize and follow through on projects with strong attention to detail.
- Information technology competency with experience or aptitude for CRM systems (e.g. Slate) and social media platforms.
- Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed for recruitment events.
- Evidence of the ability to establish rapport easily with a wide variety of people demonstrating a student-centric approach.
- A creative mindset with the ability to generate new ideas while maintaining a focus on student service.
Additional Criteria
- On-site/flexible work schedule with primary schedule Monday Friday 8:30 am 5:00 pm.
- Valid drivers license is required.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Available for work on weekends and evenings as needed.
- Willingness to carry recruitment materials.
